History of Internet

How the Internet origin? At the initial stage of its development, the Internet is not a public network that can be accessed by anyone, but the new system is a data communication using the computer access is very limited. At that time, around 1965, is a new internet project data communication system using a computer that is used by the military in the United States to support the information system for the communication system of information for national security systems in the United States only. Project research institute belonging to the United States department of defense is called ARPA (Advance Research Projects Agency).
1972, ARPA project changed its name to DARPA / IPTO (Defense ARPA / Information Processing Techniques Office) is introducing a computer network connection working. At the time that a new computer network, and realized the birth ARPANET. ARPANET network demonstrated in front of the ICCC (International Conference on Computers and Communications), an international conference on computer and communications field in Washington DC.

Demonstration shows the successful relationships and data communications node 40 through the terminal with some ARPANET host and run several different applications. Data communications applications of the first ARPANET project succeeded in moving data between a protocol to use FTP (File Transfer Protocol). Following the application and e-mail (electronic mail) and Telnet. To further test the reliability network system, in 1979 the network try to test this by connecting the two leading universities in the United States. The pilot was successful and this year is the establishment of the USENET Duke University and UNC.

Join its leading university in the ARPANET to make up the size of ARPANET communication flow so that no more data can ditampung through NCP protocol (Network Communication Protocol). In 1982 created a TCP / IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol) as the standard protocol for the network. The number of hosts connected to the internet network to reach 1000 host in 1984, and when it is introduced to start the system with the host name DNS (Domain Name System).

In the year 1986, NSF (National Science Foundation) the United States to sponsor research network TCP / IP NSFNET which are used to connect the five super computer centers and universities in the United States with backbone network speeds of 56 Kbps. This is then, in 1987, several European countries into the NSFNET network, and 10,000 have been registered in the host network.

In 1989, this network is to reach Australia and New Zealand with the number of hosts reached 100,000. Then in 1991 applications on the Internet increases with the creation WAIS (Wide Area Information Servers), Gopher, and WWW (World Wide Web). Speed NSFNET backbone network is being enhanced as 45 Mbps. Finally in 1993, NCSA mosaic issued as the first browser for the World Wide Web (which was then popular with the Web).

The presence of a mosaic that this is the turn point from the internet is only used by the academic and research into public network that is used by many people from business, entertainment, and many other things. Mosaic at the time can show the new web look is very simple, in the form of text and few images only. Then, with a very rapid development of the now widely available browsers that are more sophisticated can display the web with the view that more interesting. There are pictures, animation, sound and even video as it is normal you see when you open a website on the internet.
